MAX | VRAY | WORLD MACHINE | PHOTOSHOP
This is the opening shot of the StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void cinematic, a lot of destruction on this one. Terrain was modeled using World Machine, then brought into Max and textured with added displacement. The arms were provided by the environment modeling team as a base mesh, I then went in and added all the destruction and details to give it scale, I then textured it in Max. Everything was rendered using Vray and some Photoshop paint in the end to bring it all together.
